FDA OKs 1st generic nasal spray of reversal Medication

The Food and Drug Administration on Friday naloxone spray from Israel’s Teva Pharmaceuticals.

Naloxone was marketed as a nasal spray from the U.S. because 2016 under the new name Narcan. It can be dispensed by pharmacists . It’s also marketed as a brand-name or generic medication in automatic injectors, prefilled syringes and vials.

A pack of two Narcan sinus sprays cost approximately $130 to $150. The cost of the product wasn’t immediately provided by teva or whenever it will be available; its offices had been closed.

More than 47,600 Americans died of opioid overdoses a cost that has been rising for two decades, in 2017.
